My central heating & air unit went out and I needed a temporary solution to cool my home. It is a small 1200 sq. ft. ranch. It is being used for most of the house as I close off two bedrooms during the day. So far it has been doing well. It has a small dent on the back top left side from shipping that does not efect preformance.

Bought this to cool a larger open concept area of our newly purchased home. The area has to be close to 600 sq ft including our kitchen, hallway and living area. I bought this expecting that we'd have to close off the kitchen to get effective cooling. But this unit sufficiently cools the entire area at a setting of only 72. Way better then the cheap walmart ac's I bought for the bedrooms. A good buy.

Reliable but not Perfect

This model is known for being reliable but despite all these years it is not 100 percent perfect. First, the styrofoam insulation inside does not make this model look sturdy or fancy, no matter what grade styrofoam. Also, the dry setting didn't really dry the air based on my humidity readings and the sleep setting too quickly turns off (no one goes to sleep immediately). As of now, I would buy again.

The air conditioner works very well at keeping my 1st floor, which is about 600 sq ft, very cool. At outdoor temps in 90s F and high humidity the house is comfortable keeping AC from 68-72F. Fairly quiet, though I do have to turn volume of TV up a little when AC is running. The remote buttons are small but I only use up/down/on/off. The unit is installed in a standard size window with assistance from my neighbor due to its weight. I am a 62 y/o female, but otherwise easy to install. I used a brace purchased off Amazon that did not require being screwed into window sill or brick and works VERY well.

I like the options and efficiency of the unit, but after about a month or 2 the control board and lcd display got a lot of moisture in there and wouldn't low the buttons or remote to work. Thankfully it was able to be warranted.

Got this about a month ago - installation was fairly easy, it's not a heavy unit - the weather here in NYC has been it's usual July/August Hot - this unit has done a good job of keeping the 1st floor cool & livable - electric bill has not gone up excessively despite running it almost constantly - I bought the added 5 year warranty - I would recommend this A/C

We like the unit so far. The eco feature is great. We're using it in a larger area of the house, so we do keep it a few degrees below where we want it to be. We specifically bought it for dehumidifier feature which we haven't had to use as much yet, but it does help.

Nice Window Mounted Room Air Conditioner

The Frigidaire 12,000 BTU window air conditioner does a good job cooling and with the remote sensor turned on it will cycle on and off to keep the room cool. The remote control has the temperature sensor, and the unit monitors the room temperature and turns the unit on when cooling is needed. Installation is easy. This unit was purchased to replace a similar Frigidaire window a/c unit that I purchased in 2014 that had developed a freon leak. I would recommend the Frigidaire 12,000 BTU unit.

I live in Pittsburgh, my first year here, and find that the summers can get swampy at times with the humidity. Though not a humidifier, this unit cuts some of the moisture with the dry setting. Not terribly loud. Just have to move the volume of the TV up alittle. And I also find I don't have to run it more than an hour to get the place comfortable. So not only is it an Energy star but not having to run it as much to cool the place.Do like the design and that I can move the direction left and right, up and down.
