The inside of this dishwasher keeps breaking due to cheap plastic parts. We have been for forced to replace parts 4 times in the last 2 years.

Got on Black Friday sale. Installed by local dealer with any issues. Wow. Is this thing quiet!! Doesn't even need the 8 hour delay option. I like the 1 hour option of you need a quick wash, but so quiet really doesn't matter that much. Also like the stainless steel insides. Trays move in and out with ease. Many features, but we mainly just use the ProWash cycle and it does the job.

I bought this dishwasher based on several factors: I had a KitchenAid dishwasher in a previous house and loved it and Consumer Reports had it very highly rated. For the first two years of use, it has worked wonderfully, but the last month, the top rack kept coming off the rollers. Upon closer inspection, it was found to be broken plastic pieces on the rollers that had broken. Since I had bought the 5 year extended warranty through the company that I bought the dishwasher, I called and they ordered a new top rack roller kit that was easily obtained and installed. My only complaint is that if the company had already made a replacement kit with metal pieces, why didn't they send out a recall or replacement pieces to those that had already purchased this dishwasher. The dishwasher does a fantastic job in washing the dishes. It is extremely quiet. Otherwise, I love this dishwasher and would buy another. But, prior to purchase I will check out for plastic parts.

We purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher in June of 2013; less than four years ago. Model # KUDE60HXSS5. We recently noticed that the wood flooring in our kitchen was warping. Then we saw water stains and damage to the ceiling and walls in our basement. All of this was in the vicinity of the dishwasher. We first called a plumber thinking it was a pipe leak. The plumber came and looked under the dishwasher. He told us that it was not a plumbing issue, it was the dishwasher itself and we needed to call an appliance repairman. That was a $50 charge. We called an appliance repairman. He looked at it and said that, among other things, it needed a new pump motor. That it was not worth repairing. He also said that it was impossible to tell how long that it was leaking. That was a $60 charge. So, in less than 4 years I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that is a piece of junk! Not only are we having to go out and purchase a new dishwasher, we have to get the damage caused by this garbage appliance repaired. We need new flooring. We need someone to come in and repair the damaged drywall. All this, I fear, is going to cost several thousand dollars. And I worry about mold and additional water damage to the subflooring. I would never again consider a purchase of any Kitchen Aid appliance, nor would I recommend it to anyone! Not only do they sell inferior products, the junk caused damage to our home.

It was time to replace our 25yr old dishwasher so after some research online and reading reviews we selected KitchenAid. It is so quiet if not for the lights we would not know it was running. Lots of space and does a great job. No more washing dishes before we load dishwasher. Better than advertized!!!

I bought this dishwasher a week ago and have used it every day since then. It is so quiet I have to put my ear next to it to see if it is in fact running. The dishes and pots come out very clean and are dry enough to put away immediately. I have to use the lock feature though, because it is very easy to lean against and start a cycle without meaning to.

I love this dishwasher. Holds a lot of dishes, super quiet, washes well. Has a variety of cycles and options, including a proscrub that power washes. But when it was 3 years old, a screw holding a top rack slide became loose, and caused a major leak out onto my hardwood floors. And only two weeks later, the diverter gave out, so that it would not run; and to fix that the entire motor had to be replaced! And the Warranty did not cover either.

Quiet, but not built to last

We have owned this dishwasher for approximately 4 years. It is extremely quiet which is a must in our home where the kitchen is wide open to the living room and TV. It also cleans dishes as expected. Unfortunately, the design of this product puts excessive weight on the upper wrack rollers which are held in place with cheap plastic. Over time, with normal use, the weight combined with the rollers rubbing on the cheap plastic, the cheap plastic breaks. When this happens, you will have the pleasant surprise of your upper rack falling onto your lower rack. The parts are available online, but they are over $30.00 on any of the appliance sites. In four years, we have fixed the right side once, and this week will be fixing the left side for the second time. I know this will not be the last time since again, this damage is caused by normal use. It seems that no appliances last longer than a couple years without something breaking. But, this flaw would have me steer clear of this unit if you are in the market.

I did not purchase this dishwasher, it came with a BRAND NEW home and was installed correctly. Well needless to say it broke within in 1 month. The lights on the control panel worked sporadically and Kitchenaid said there was nothing wrong with it. Maybe I got the lemon of their dishwashers but after 2 years the dishwasher NO LONGER works at all. It now serves as an expensive drying rack for my dishes. I will never buy a large kitchen aid product again. (I love their small mixers etc. but their large products do not work well.) Oh and Kitchen aid only thinks that appliances break Monday-Friday.

We have two houses with KitchenAid dishwasher in both. It cleans dishes, glassware and stainless pots and pans unlike any other dishwasher I have ever owned. I especially like the knife/fork/spoon compartments. It allows each to be washed thoroughly without any of them sticking together.

I have purchased 2 kitchen aid dishwashers in the past 8 years. The first one i bought may have been a fluke as nothing ever got clean. So again I purchases another thinking the brand name was so good it must be me. Well it is not me. I have tried numerous products rinses etc to get these dishes clean but to no avail as they still come out with some sort of food particle on them. Be informed that I take steps ahead of time to prewash dishes, make sure disposal is clean, make sure water is very hot, put vinegar in rinse. My teenage sons says that our dishes have not really been clean for a while. Warning to all ...these energy saving products are a real disappointment

Can hear it run....so quiet. Don't need the delay start. We have a compact style great room/kitchen combined house....so sound levels were of concern to us....well my title says it all. As a bonus it even seems to wash the dishes well! We had an issue with the door panel (stainless) being off color...contacted service and had a service man come out....he ordered the new door panel and was installed within a week. He suggest that we only use a teaspoon of detergent per wash.....looks like we have a couple of years of detergent!

This is the quietest and most efficient dishwasher I have ever owned! Actually had to lean over and put my head close to the unit to hear it working. And it does a MARVELOUS job of getting things clean, even plastic containers never have a greasy residue. I HIGHLY recommend this one!

I originally purchased another brand and it was installed. It did not work properly and Lowe's ask me to choose a replacement. I then ask the sales associate which dishwasher had the fewest complaints and he replied the Kitchenaid. So I purchased this one. I can't express just how happy I am with it. The inside looks very much like a commercial dishwasher. The top shell is capable of being moved up and down, which is very handy. It is sooooo quiet! Dishes get completely clean and there's no unpleasant odor that one finds with many dishwashers. I am very happy with my purchase!

First I must say I have owned other kitchen aid dishwashers. While this one's appearance is appealing. This model is extremely disappointing. First a normal cycle runs close to 2hrs. Therefore, don't count on waiting for a cycle to complete to run another one during the holidays or possibly a party. Even the quick cycle is over an hour. The biggest problem though is the cleanliness of the dishes. It's poor to say the least. I've always to look to kitchen aid for it quality and superior performance when it comes to dishwashers. This model has made me second guess my decision.

The front buttons are constantly turning on when we brush up against it. They seem way too sensitive. I am sorry that I chose the front controls but I did not want a handle. We have hard water so the the soap really does not correct that. We have started to use the heavy duty cycle to get stuff clean. It runs for ever, way too long to finish. I like the adjustable top rack. I can't justify paying more than I did for a dishwasher.

I have always had KitchenAid dishwashers and found them to be unsurpassed. I entertain a lot, and in my last house, I had 3 of them (2 in kitchen and one in the bar). This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. First, the one hour wash does nothing but santize. To really wash, you have to go with the power wash, which takes hours. It is so slow and still doesn't do the job that earlier models did. Plus, it is so cheaply made. I have had it less than a year and the rollers are already broken. I will never buy another KitchenAid dishwasher. This one has caused me to lose all faith in KitchenAid, if it was willing to put its name on an appliance this bad, especially at this price.

Bought product 20 months ago. Broke first time when it was 1 week out of warranty. Front door did not latch properly and flooded my kitchen. Second repair, front control panel quite working. Third, fourth and fifth repair, the wheels broke off of very cheaply made plastic top rack. I have now paid as much in repairs and parts that I paid for the dishwasher in the first place. Would replace in a second!!!
