Purchased this from the website in the black stainless steel and I must start off by mentioning that this is the most gorgeous dishwasher I have ever seen. But besides that, it works tremendously. Everything comes out clean even if it goes in dirty. It's quiet as a mouse, you can put plenty in it, love the top pull out shelf And the light. Delivery and set-up were easy breezy and haven't had a problem since. One little tiny comment maybe is that when you pull out the drawers they make a weird noise like they're off the track. But I've looked a zillion times and they're not. It's just the sound they make. So far I've found this dishwasher to be worth every penny.

It doesn't stay lit

The only thing my husband isn't happy with is that it doesn't stay lit during the washing process. The interior lights up once its finished for a short time and then when the door is open. I on the other hand love this purchase!

I agree with Mike's review: the rails are terrible, for maintenance and mold issues!!! I am also surprised KitchenAid still has the exposed heating coil. Somehow, plastic handled ware bounces out of their places and lands on it -- melting... our friend's house caught on fire with a Bosch DW with this issue... Put a cover over the coil!!!! Cleaning is so-so -- it says that you MUST use Cascade pods for best cleaning -- I like to change my cleaners periodically, to clean everything a little differently. My machine is about 6 months old... and I have always LOVED KitchenAid!!!! I am about to trash this model (and thereby eat the $1500) and get something else. Not great "improvements" from the old model.

I purchased this dishwasher to replace my Kitchenaid Supurba dishwasher. The old one still worked, however the spring on the door had worn out, and it was hard for me to lift up and down. My friends were thrilled to receive it, and the handy hubby fixed the spring. Ok, now for the New! I am amazed each time I use it. I was very sceptical about just putting dirty, dried on pans and dishes in as they were. My dishes come out sparkling every time. It is also very quite, do not hear it running. I have been a loyal kitchenaid customer for about 40 years, and I am so very satisfied with my dishwasher.

YES...I left the review below this one. After contacting KitchenAid via their suggested method below, here's why my review has changed:
1. The drying issue was ***NOT*** part of the 15 times KitchenAid suggested in their reply below to use a rinse aid, which I had used from the 1st day to the 3rd week with no varied results.
2. KitchenAid sent out a local technician to check the problem. The drying issue was a problem with the motherboard "talking" to the heating element. He reset the machine.
3. The reset was a perfect fix!!! I washed a load immediately after the tech left. After it finished, I was a little disappointed to see a little moisture on the inside of the window & around the door, but within 2-3 minutes, after opening the door, the entire machine and dishes were COMPLETELY DRY!!! And this time, I could feel heat coming from the machine. :-)
4. The tech explained that the lower water pressure I could see was when more than one section of washers were on at a time. He said the newer machines have cycles for each section. Makes perfect sense. Why doesn't KitchenAid provide that info in the specs section???
5. This machine is really a spectacular machine as far as roominess. I have been totally impressed at that feature from the beginning. I no longer have to try to cram all pots in the bottom section, as I can lower the top rack to accommodate pots there, too.
6. Unlike another review, I found the cutlery basket ample, but not overly large. I did pull the top off (another great flexibility) because I put mine in with the handles up.
7. I also love, love, LOVE the flat rack at the top. We use 5-6 knives a day for meal preps, etc, and I love that I can get them out of the way (and they don't slide through the cutlery basket)!
The only negative notes I now have are:
a. The light cannot be switched on or off from the outside (the only reason I gave a 4-star instead of 5-stars for "Design").
b. KitchenAid's customer service operators are a little less than desirable. The guy I spoke with acted like a was the biggest pain in his side...and I promise you I was not ugly with him, nor was I snotty, nor only complaining (I praised the machine for the roominess, etc as my notes above). Goodness KitchenAid....not sure if you're not paying them enough or if they have terrible working conditions (??).
Anyway, I paid $2,000 for this machine (not $1,200--I found my receipt). My happiness with the machine and the price I paid now match.
YES....I WOULD RECOMMEND this product.

I am very impress with quality of the dishwasher, the materials, handle, hitches, amazing quality. The Noise is something incredible, it is amazingly quiet; I live in a small house and my kitchen and living-room are next to each other and when I turn on the dishwasher, I can perfectly watch TV. Just the controls are not very intuitive, for example, the internal light there is not way to turn it off. After I read the manual I found it turns off after 10 min.
I am giving it one start because the black stainless line from KitchenAid is not easy to find them. I bought them from a major retail store and I did not receive it after more than two months. the retail was blaming KitchenAid and vice versa. Before you decide to buy all you black stainless steal, review if they have it in stock, otherwise a backorder can take you a lot of time
