Awesome Dryer!

This dryer has been great! The static reducer works wonderfully, I hate dryer sheets so this has been a great alternative. I love having the delicate option and the ability to change the heat and dryness level depending on what clothes I'm throwing in.

Excellent Dryer

My wife loves all functions of this dryer, it drys clothes quickly and efficiently. As our washer / dryer is above my downstairs office, I personally love the fact that the combination of both Maxima XL Washer / Dryers that we purchased are whisper quiet. No more house rattling!

Awesome machine!

I bought the Maxima laundry pair in November of 2013. And, I would do it all over again. The dryer is very quiet even when fully loaded. My favorite feature is the steam feature. When I forget to check and see at what point in the drying cycle the dryer is or I run an errand and, upon returning home, find that the dryer has stopped, I just turn on the Refresh with Steam cycle and 23 minutes later the clothes are wrinkle free. All of the cycles come "pre-programmed" as far as heat temperature, type of material being dried, and length of time the cycle will run, however, you can "tweek" some cycles to your preferences. Here in Michigan, during the winter months, static electricity can be a real problem..The reduce static option keep moisture in the dryer and I have never had to pull clothes apart and endure shocks and sparks. If the Jetsons had a dryer of the future, this would have been it.

Confusing selections on panel for dryness choices
Laureen
8/15/2014
When I choose a drying mode, the selection does not necessarily dry the clothes as selected. Example: I choose "wrinkle control", it automatically gives me "low temperature" and "more dryness", but then the dryer stops and the waistbands or any thicker area on the item are still damp. I don't understand why the dryer doesn't sense the dampness. My 20 year old Maytag dryer that is still working, never ended the load without sensing the dryness of the clothes. (and my 20 year old Maytag dryer still works fine, but I thought the new dryer would be superior...it's not)

Easy as a Sunday morning

My wife and I are opposites (hence, the attraction). I embrace new technology, she prefers old, predictable, and reliable. So, she resisted the idea of a new washer/dryer until 'old reliable' was in hospice care. Thus commenced the search and Goldilocks-like assessment of every washer and dryer on the market. (Too big, too small, too hard, too homely?.JUUUUSSST right!)What do we love about our new Maytags? Pretty much everything. First of all, if your sister in law (like mine) has cautioned you against front loaders?.ignore the noise. The new washers are dramatically different from those of a decade ago. (Hey, the Europeans are right about this?.and a lot of other things.) Just be sure to run the "Affresh cycle"?of which the machine will remind you - and no worries about 'smells'. Plus, these washers are smart and efficient. People: water is a precious resource! You can cram (and we do) a HUGE amount of clothes in these washers - and the machine will determine how much detergent and water is needed. They use less than one-fourth as much water as a top loader. PLUS?.and this is really great?.the high spin speeds leave the clothes almost dry?.meaning clothes spend less time in the dryer. Also, these machines are SUPER easy to operate. The panel interfaces are simple and intuitive. (OK, I read the manual?.but my wife did not?and she understood it intuitively.) They're also QUIET.And, did I mention good looking?"Trust me"?.we looked at them all. There is a reason this is rated #1 by Consumers. All in all, we're delighted with the purchase. We're just hoping they last 16 years like our last set.

We were very concerned when we bought this as they also make Kitchen Aid. This unit is much better than the KA that it replaced. It is to new to see how reliable it is.
