Moved into the house with all Maytag SS appliances less than 10 years old. Igniters needed replacing after a little over a year. One year later, igniters have gone out in the small oven, again. No more repairs; will probably replace with a GE single oven (tired of getting on the floor to use the bottom oven).

Great Look but very difficult to install

I purchased this oven bc I loved the look, wasnt expecting it to be soooo heavy. We ordered it and had it shipped directly to us. There was a dent in the top but because we knew it wouldnt show when installed decided not to go thru the hassle of returning it. When we went to install it we found the leveling feet to be very inadequate for the weight of the oven. We had flooring installed and due to frequent moving the feet buckled and bent the brackets that hold them. The design is not such that the feet can be detached and reinstalled the housing that holds the feet bent and cant be fixed. Cooking like a professional chef!

Love my new Maytag gas range! It looks and feels like a professional Chef's work space. The first thing I baked was a cake - in the small upper oven. It came out great although it took a little longer to bake. Next time I will use the lower oven on convection baking. I only wish that the brushed stainless would come in the finger print resistant finish. The good folks at Sherry Appliance gave me a can of Bees Wax polish and it works like a charm to keep the finish looking like new.

I bought this range a year and a half ago fully going, perhaps a bit naively, with the Maytag promise of reliability. The left surface burner control seized a few months into use and now the second burner control valve has failed, with the promise of more going the same route soon. I am told I will have to pay the considerable labour costs to replace the faulty burner. So much for Maytag reliability.

Doesnt go to correct temperature

I was so happy when I got my new double oven. I had wanted one for awhile. It worked great when I got it, but now after only 3 years, it's not working properly.The upper oven cooks at 20* lower than its set and the lower starts out at about 10-20* lower and then jumps to 50* higher. I can't even figure out what to set it at. I couldn't even bake cookies this year because I have no idea what temp it will be at when I use it. I can't believe it, we spent over $2000 for this oven and now who knows how much it is going to cost to repair. I'm very disappointed. I was always happy with Maytag products, but I've changed my mind.

Sorry this has taken so long to respond. My kitchen was in the remodeling stage. Plus changing from electric to LP.It has taken a little while to to get reacquainted with cooking with gas. Have only used the ovens a few times, with no complaints. Still learning the top burners to get the temp I'm looking for. My wife usually cleans up after I make the mess. She is always complaining about the roughness of the top grates and how hard they are to clean. The dish cloth is always leaving lint stuck to them. Please let me know if you have any suggestions that may relieve my wife's cleaning stress. Still getting used to this beautiful stove, and am very pleased that we purchased it.

Attractive and great cooktop, oven has room for improvement

I have had my new stove for just over a week and have made several meals already. The stove is very attractive and the cooktop is great. There is a nice variety of burner sizes and iIlove the large oval burner in the middle. The ovens, specifically the top oven leaves some room for improvement. The top oven, despite being significantly smaller than a 'regular' size oven, seems to take a while to preheat and the bottom 2 rack positions are so close to the door that i have a hard time pulling out my food without burning myself on the door. The buttons to control the ovens are also difficult to push. All in all a very nice stove.

I've only had my double oven for a month but so far it's been working great. I love having the smaller oven because it heats up and cools down so quickly. I haven't used both ovens at the same time yet but I'm sure it will come in handy next time I'm cooking for a group. The gas burners work well and overall the oven is a lot quieter than the oven in our last home. If I had one complaint it's that the buttons on the control screen take a little more pressure to activate than our previous oven. They just aren't very sensitive. I haven't had this one long but so far I'm a happy customer.

I have had this for over a year and the repairman has been here at least five times. The repairs have been for either the broiler will not start or one of the burners does not work. I do not like the timer, you can not add time to it while it is going, you have to cancel it and start over. For being a fairly expensive model it should work great. If the middle griddle was flush with the other burners it would be more convenient, too.

Maytag Gemini Range/Double Oven

Unsatisfied with gemini 12/10/2014

Generally this range with double oven performs well and holds the temperatures in the ovens. However, the display is not bright enough and the shiny black finish for the cooktop shows every speck of dirt in the air so it always needs cleaning. In the smaller oven, the rack guides are just strange: 1) if you use the bottom guide, you can't actually pull it out of the oven with something on it as it hits the door; 2) if you use the top guide the cover for the broiler function only leaves about 1.5inches of clearance to put something on the rack.
