Effective range hood but poor troubleshooting documentation.

I bought this hood 1.5 years ago, so of course the warranty had expired. Yesterday, all of a sudden the fan started making a terrible racket. When I googled to see if I could figure out what was wrong with it, I could not find help other than that it was probably the bearing and I would have to replace the motor. I had to remove quite a few screws to get to the fan and required a smal allen wrench to do it. I stripped out one of them and had to go and get another. When I finally got the fan blow wheel out, it turned out to be the nut that tightens around the motor shaft that had come loose so that the wheel had just come loose all together thus creating a racket. This must be a fairly common occurrence and guidance for this ought to be available online associated with the product. Also competing brands have gone to some lengths to make taking the unit apart much easier. Other than that, I love it. It looks good. It is quiet and effective.

We have the fan vented to the out of doors and it clears the air really well. Looks nice too.

I purchased this unit in August and when I removed it from the carton something was rattling around inside it. I found that too large a nut was used to install one of the capacitors allowing it to fall from it's mounting and hang by it's electrical wires. The nut was rattling around in the compartment above. After reinstalling the capacitor with the proper size nut and installing the unit under the cabinet it seems to be operating properly.

My range hood is not in my face like in past experiences I dont even notice it and its not loud. Cleans up great in the dishwasher. Its perfect

It doesn't clack in the wind! The only problem with it is it is so quiet that we forget to turn it off.
