Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

My 1st Gas Range.

2/6/2017

I am learning how to cook all over again, but finding that I like the gas stove. I like the auto light features for the burners. I also like that it cleans up so much better than the tops of my electric stoves in the past. I have found I need to cook most everything on low or it burns including my favorite food popcorn. The oven works much the same but I don't like the gas smell when I am using the oven, the gas smells and does not go away, not sure if it needs to be adjusted or if that is just how gas ovens operate. I have not cleaned the oven to comment on that and I am getting the hang of the timer operation. I am curious how the broiler will work since it seems to be only down the center of the stove.

Terrible to clean

1/4/2016

This is the first new stove I've ever owned, I've cooked for over 40 years on vintage stoves, by choice. This is the worst appliance to clean. I knew the grates were heavy and would need removed to clean it. The grates are so rough, they shred the dish cloth and towel. It leaves particles of cloth on the grate. Anything that drips onto the stove top cooks on and is difficult to get it off. The first use, oil got splattered onto the center burner covers and they are left with permanent oil stains. After less than one week of use, the stove looks used. The "storage" drawer is cheaply made and comes off the tracks. My previous stove still looked brand new but could no longer get parts. Too bad they don't make them like that anymore.

Broiler did not work when delivered

10/22/2015

Whirlpool sent a repair man within a week, it was a wire that never was attached at the factory. The grates are very heavy and must be removed after every time you cook in order to wipe the surface clean. So new, I don't know if I love it yet.

Not a good appliance

headcook 6/27/2015

This has got to be the worst appliance I have ever bought. About 2/3 of the time the over will not light. My wife has become so mad at this stove. Local dealer says it has a know defect. Been 6 weeks and still no parts. Not sure who is worse, the dealer or whirlpool
