We bought our microwave December of 2017 it was great until January 2019. Get close door error everytime we try to use with door closed. Have to open & close door 5-10 times before it will start. Then while cooking if you open the door it continues to go. Have to push the x to stop it. I give it 2 stars only because the 1st 12 months we had it O really liked it.

Exhaust Fan is horrible

The microwave itself is okay. Not as quick as many I've used, and the automatic reheat settings overcook. But my main complaint is the exhaust fan. It is VERY NOISY and does not vent well at all. No better than blowing smoke through a screen back into the same room. And we vent the exhaust OUTSIDE the house.

New Microwave

I am disappointed with the position of the light under the microwave which is too far back. Not only that but it is hard to know in the night where the place is to turn it on. I think there should be a raised button for it to be easily found. Also I think the light should be either On or Off and not used as a "night light. "I miss the light I used to have under the hood.

I bought a home with the microwave. It worked sporadically for a month then it finally stopped heating food. I called the home warranty, paid the service fee and they came out and fixed the unit. After 2 months it doesn't heat the food again. It worked and then 30 minutes it didn't work again. Debating if I call the warranty again or buy a new one. IN addition the fan is loud when it turns out, apparently to cool it off when it is on. I would stay away from this model, not sure about the brand.

Easy to use and streamlined appearance

I purchased this as a replacement for another Whirlpool microwave that lasted 13 years under heavy use by a family with boys. This model was easy to install, is beautifully designed and is easy to use and program. The over-the-stove light and and fan are powerful and get used daily. This is the microwave that came as part of the appliance package with my new house. While the microwave function still works, the turntable stopped working after two years. Replacing the turntable motor didn't work. It will cost more than the appliance is worth to fix it.

Some design flaws

This microwave is great for cooking, but has some design flaws. The vent fan is on top of the microwave, not bottom, so the steam from boiling water on the oven condenses on the face of the microwave creating a big mess. It has lots of features, but they take so long to program I usually just end up punching in the time.
