Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Electronics can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. I bought this TV in April. It gets nearly daily use and works great for us which is watching TV over FiOS. We dont use the various apps. Its nice to know they are there...maybe well explore them someday. Really like the image quality of OLED screen. The LG remote is hardly used since the FiOS remote controls channel selection and volume but the LG remote is useful for going into menu items. The mouse like pointer feature is nice but it seems reluctant to appear at time a bit wonky in that aspect. The TV developed a problem 2 weeks ago where it would shut off after 5 seconds. During the image display at startup a black vertical line appeared. A call to LG support verified ti was a defect and they quickly contacted a local shop who just replaced the defective part. Hopefully it was just a rare defect and Im expecting years of trouble free service

very clear display. remote control is extremely disappointing. It is overly sensitive to motion and has awkward delays. It is not illuminated so that it is much too easy to press the wrong button in the dark. It does not function well at all as a universal remote. I have stopped using it for dish tv as it is too frustrating --it needs multiple button and cursor actions to do what a single button press does on the dish remote. But I still need it for volume so end up using two remotes all the time. WebOS is very basic. It will not load or play PBS programs at PBS my passport if I use it to log in. It just throws an error. To get around this I connect my laptop to a HDMI port on the LG tv and log in to PBS using my laptop. Very disappointing as well. For the money $900 it should be better than this.

I replaced my 19 year old 42 inch Plasma tv with the LG OLED 42 inch C3 tv. The picture quality is about the same. The menus are much more complicated than the old tv and a printed manual was not provided with the LG tv which has made operation difficult. For some reason I am unable to change the aspect ratio as it is greyed out and have not been able to find out how to fix this. I also do not understand how to use the LG streaming channels as have found no instructions on this.

This is about one month old. Installation went smoothly well packaged and good instructions. Tv picture quality is superb no questions. I gave only 4 stars because the remote control is not friendly or ergonomic. Not lighted so n low light difficult to select buttons. Worst of all the INPUT or SOURSE symbol does not make sense. Should have words printed Source or Input instead of mouse like symbol. We had to contact customer service to ask for source button. Honestly I would pay extra for better remote control if given option. Customer service was very good though.

Beautiful picture. Without a doubt the best I have seen. The built-in app is a little awkward to use but usable. They didnt give enough warning about just how fragile the screen is. Mine got one bump I was unaware of and it stopped working. Not covered by the warranty.

I purchased this LG OLED EVO C3 42-inch smart TV Model# OLED42C3PUA for use in my home office in late November 2023. This was the first LG product that I have ever purchased. I must say that after unboxing this tv and setting it up I was highly impressed with the amazing picture quality its easy-to-navigate menus and pointer remote. Later I connected an Xbox to it and enjoyed playing fast action games on it. There was never any lag and playing games on this beautiful display was pure joy. I was so happy with this OLED TV that I was preparing to begin slowly upgrading a few of my homes other larger televisions to LG OLEDs. Its fortunate that I got to experience LGs online technical support phone customer service and warranty service before making a huge mistake in buying any additional LG products. Customers can gain a lot of insight into a company when they get to experience how they handle a problem they are having. Fast-forward to May 2024. I went to turn on my LG television and it would not turn on using the remote or the button on the television itself. I tried to troubleshoot the problem on my own to no avail. I knew the TV came with a one-year warranty and since it was less than six months old I figured: OK no problem LG will take of it. This is where my nightmares in dealing with LG began. I went to their website to try and figure out how one goes about getting a warranty repair. There is no way to schedule a warranty repair yourself on the website. Instead you have to go through a technical support chat first. Here they make you try all the things you already tried on your own in order to troubleshoot the problem. Half way through the process I got disconnected from their chat support. When I started a new chat session they would not let me continue troubleshooting from the same point I was at in the last session. No instead I had to start the whole process all over again. Unplug this take and send me pictures of that etc. Those two chat support sessions probably took 90-120 minutes of my time before they agreed to send someone to my house for a warranty repair service. They ended the chat saying Keep your line free someone will be calling shortly to schedule the service. Nobody ever called. Instead a couple days later I got a text from someone asking me to send them even more pictures of the TV. He ended the text session saying he needed to order some parts and that he will call me to schedule the repair when they come in. Fast forward 2+ weeks later: around 8pm on a Sunday night I get a call from a repairman telling me he is coming to repair the TV the next day. Thanks for the short notice. I had to take the day off from work at the last minute to be home for the repair. Still after nearly three weeks of having a broken television I was relieved it would finally be getting fixed. If I only knew what was to come next. The next day the technician shows up. I let him in and show him where the TV is and leave him alone to make the repair. A short time later he comes out and tells me he replaced the parts they thought were the problem but now the OLED display is showing signs that it has a micro crack when the screen is lit up. I ask him to show me the damage. We examined the television carefully together and neither of us could see any obvious external signs that the screen was cracked or damaged in any way. I guess thats why they call it a micro crack. Anyway he tells me he needs to take pictures and send them to LG to see if they will authorize the screen replacement. They immediately text him back that they consider it customer damage and that the warranty is now void. He was to take out the replacement parts he put in and leave. Up until this point the thought that the screen could be cracked and that this is something that LG would blame on the me and that they would void the warranty never even crossed my mind. Absolutely nothing happened to this TV while it was in my home that would even remotely cause the screen to crack. Plus after careful examination with the technician we could not even see said crack. He handed me a support ticket number and tells me I need to call customer support and take the issue up with them. He disassembled the TV once again and removed the parts he installed and left. At this point the TV which was previously showing no signs of this alleged micro crack was now showing an actual crack that you could see. Here is the thing. I dont know if this TV developed this micro crack during the manufacturing process or during the packaging process at the factory or during the shipping process or during the warranty repair service. but I am certain it was nothing that I did. Plus I would have thought this is exactly what a warranty is for. If an issue is discovered within the first year and its still covered under the manufacturers warranty you expect they will fix it. But that was not the case. All I know is I called LG out to do a repair on a TV with no obvious signs of a crack and by the time the tech left I had an obviously cracked TV and LG telling me its my fault and my problem. After the technician left I picked up the phone and called their customer support as I was instructed to do. I wanted to find out where we go from here. That conversation went nowhere fast. It was basically just some foreign guy I could barely understand saying screen cracked warranty void nothing we can do. After some persistence on my part he agreed to put in a ticket for a second warranty claim. He said they would review all the pictures I previously sent them and they would let me know within 24-48 hours if they could do anything. The 48 hours passed and I naturally I never heard back from anyone. I guess that is an answer in its own way. Ive learned a lot about LG during this experience. Most importantly that LG doesnt stand behind their product and their warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on. Their online tech support and telephone tech support is terrible and warranty repairs take a ridiculously long time. We will never know if the TV came with a defect or weakness that only became known after a few months of usage or if the repair technician did something to cause damage. If its anything that happened while it was in my home then this product is ridiculously fragile and should be immediately recalled for being unfit for its intended purpose. What I know with certainty after this experience is that LG doesnt care and that they are not going to stand behind their product or their warranty. Thankfully this will be the first and last LG product I ever own. BUYER BEWARE

I noticed immediately the difference in picture from our older set. Like everything else thats new its taking a while to get used to the remote and all the smart features. One suggestion would be to backlight the remote. I use this TV in the bedroom at night when Im in bed and I cant see the buttons.

This TV has great features soundfor a flat screen an excellent picture and viewing angle. The only reason for the four star overall rating is the difficulty getting the initial start up screen set to HDMI. Even LGs instructional video left out an important step to make this happen.

I recently bought the C3 42 the other day. This tv has the best picture Ive ever seen on any tv The colors are truly vibrant but not that unnatural over saturated look. Colors look vibrant and natural. The Black levels are unlike anything Ive ever seen on any LCD tv they just cant compete to this OLED beast Do not worry about the brightness of this tv it is so brihht I actually turned it down to give my eyes a rest. I use this tv in my bright bedroom so dont worry about your room being too bright it wont be. Unless you point studio lights straight it this tv.

Would be 5 stars but I need an instruction manual. I mostly watch cable TV and also stream Netflix and Disney. Im not sure what LG TV stations are good. I started watching a movie but there were so many commercials I stopped early on and havent tried any others since. I bought a sound bar with mine but just leave it turned off because I dont know what the settings should be. When I first set it up it echoed horribly. Then I turned off the TV sound and just ran the sound bar and it kept turning itself off. I dont know how to set it up. The cable company helped me synch their remote with the LG TV but when I use the cable remote to turn the TV it automatically goes to the LG home screen. I just want to watch cable so each time I have to fiddle with the LG remote to click on HDMI. Wish I could just open straight to cable. The color doesnt always look right. Sometimes the men look like they are wearing lipstick. Wish I knew how to adjust it. I need an instruction manual. If you havent guessed Im a senior citizen.

After owning a 55 LG CX I was hooked on the premium OLED experience that LG offers. Initially wanted the 48 CX as that was at the time the best merger between bedroom tv/gaming monitor I was thrilled to see an ad for the LG 42 Evo on Best Buy and I immediately purchased one. Being the smallest OLED tv at the moment with 120hz refresh rate nvidia gsync VRR and all the other gaming related softwares this is THE tv/gaming monitor and is even essentially a high end gaming pc out the box with the NVIDIA GeForce Now app pre-installed its been how ive been doing all of my gaming.

I couldnt be any happier with my choice of TV to replace my mini-led tv. I was concerned with the brightness of the new OLED screen before my purchase but I had to turn the brightness down quite a bit because it was too bright for me. The display was everything that I hoped it would be and am not disappointed in the least. This product wont disappoint you at all.

We upgraded our entry level tv to this one. Extra money well worth it. We are getting older and need a tv that enables us to see the details including the captions. Moreover being able to buy a 42 inch version was a big selling point. We dont want to tv to be so large it overwhelms everything else in our living room. It was easy to get up and running and we are continuing to discover new features. Love the point-and-click remote.

Ive been using this product as a pc monitor and TV for about 6 weeks. Coming from a 1440p extra wide monitor and a 1080p tv this blows me away. The picture is clear and bright for tv gaming general pc usage. The sound is not the greatest but nobody uses the stock tv speakers anymore anyway. I highly recommend this product to everyone

Picture quality is very good but the general experience is not pleasant. Many times it feels like theres a salesman trying to sell me stuff. In addition at inopportune times there is a pop-up asking me to agree to some terms and conditions from which I cant continue. Meanwhile I am missing the program content. When this happens the return button doesnt do anything. Even worse the text in the popup is dark grey on a light grey background. Frustrating. Your interface needs improvement.

We purchased our t.v. as a recommended product of Consumer Reports. We are truly enjoying our new t.v. and our very happy with our purchase. The only reason I didnt rate it five stars is because it is not compatible with the PBS Passport app. and sometimes when the t.v. gives you instructions it speaks so fast it hard to understand what its saying.

Be Careful. OLED TVs May Be Addictive

Our family has enjoyed LGs OLED TV platform in our home theater for the last few years. OLED offers amazing picture quality and the whole family appreciates the breathtaking images. An OLED TV in a dark viewing room is breathtaking-- the inky blacks do not disappoint. We decided to replace the TV in our great room and after a lot of checking it became evident that there are not a lot of options for high-quality small TVs that include features like Dolby Digital. And while I started looking at other platforms to expand our horizons we landed squarely back in the OLED camp. I appreciate that LG has made this unit with some thickness to it. Our other OLED TV is so thin as to be almost impossible to handle. The stand is well designed and the cable management is a nice touch since this particular unit is not wall mounted. Because of the efficient stand and bezel design we were able to gain significant screen area compared to the older LCD TV that it replaced. My only complaint with the LG is the welcome screen icons/apps are a bit much-- a clean design would be a much-welcomed upgrade. Same with our previous OLED unit from LG. I didnt realize just how clunky the interface is since our previous unit is connected to an AV processor that handles most of the system control. This unit is a freestanding unit with a couple of connected components. The units software works well and provides control of all the connected components fluidly. Also the cable cover on the rear of the TV doesnt handle multiple HDMI cables very well. Thats a minor issue. Again our only complaint is we wish LG would create a cleaner user interface... but I bought it for an amazing picture. The interface is just an annoyance.

Ive been using this TV for a pc monitor and as a TV for about a month now. My games look as if I made a massive graphical upgrade to my computer. It is amazing what I have been missing out on with this TV. No regrets on this purchase. Highly recommended.

Just bought this tv two weeks ago.this is my first time owning a oled tv.all I have to say is wow.picture is amazing refresh rate amazing for gaming along with amazing graphics.everything is so crisp clear.the best tv I have ever owned.I still get wowed when watching movies or playing games.will never go back to having a non oled tv ever.lg makes great products.I only go with lg for tvs and Blu-ray players.

Nothing is perfect in life . so thats why i give everything i love a 4 star. Never a 5. Anyway i love this tv its perfect for everything i needed it for. From quality to sound. It surpasses other tvs in my opinion. LG is the go to for me no matter what. Not only because its the tv i bought but because life is really good. If its not broken dont fix it. I still use my V60 phone and i think ill keep it until it is no longer being supported or if ot breaks. Life is good.

Great TV difficult set-up

I bought this TV on November 13 2023 and it was delivered two days later on November 15. We loved the picture the sound the quality in general. But it took two months and four visits from The Geek Squad to make it work right. The TV kept turning itself on spontaneously sometimes in the middle of the night. After trying very hard to figure out the issue including changing out the entire main board the Geek Squad concluded the problem may have been the magic remote. It is complicated to use who makes a remote without a pause button that is easily accessible??? and not intuitive. If this could be made more user friendly it would enhance the TV. Note: We did have another remote cable a sound bar and headphones also plugged in so some of these devices may have complicated the electronic set-up. Still weve never had such difficulty with a TV set up before.

Wow. Just wow. The LG C3 absolutely exceeded my expectations. I bought it as a room tv / monitor to double as a set for my room for both work and relaxation and man did it do great. 4K 120hz is just downright amazing. I lob e everything about this tv and wish I could replace every one in my house with the C3.

Our LG 42C3 OLED replaced a 2006 40 UHD. Our choices were limited due to its location in a built in cabinet. The new picture is fabulous - in day or night time. The colors are brilliant and the contrast is unbelievable. An added benefit is the expanded viewing angle. No comment on the audio as we also bought a soundbar. The only negative is our learning curve with all the menu options and the newer Magic remote. It may take us a while to settle into our personal preferences.

Television works well and set-up was relatively seamless. I havent had it long enough to put it through all its paces but certainly havent encountered any difficulties. I just need to figure out how to edit the channels that come in through my antenna so I can delete the duplicates and weak ones.

This is my second LG tv I purchased in the last 2 years and I am very happy with both. The visual colors and realism they represent are truly a fun experience. The number of personal programming options for sound and many other features allows each of us more flexibility either watching sports or movies etc and the appearance of depth of characters when viewing enhances the feeling that you are within the action itself.
