like many on here, when we bought this in 2018, the ice maker was problematic. fortunately we purchased and extended warranty through lowes and after two replacement ice makers, the one they installed in 2021 fixes every problem we had. no more freeze ups and no more dripping water! i'd give it 5 stars as it is now but the hassle of warranty work to finally get it right has to knock of at least one star so i'll go with 4.

i like the refrigerator it is very attractive, but the ice maker is a problem. it stopped working after 2 years, samsung sent a repairman out to fix it, he replaced the ice maker unit and the motherboard. that fixed the problem and everything worked fine for about a year, but now it has stopped working again.

the ice maker has a design flaw that causes the unit to freeze up and become unusable. with only a one-year warranty, it seems the responsibility is left to the customer to replace. bought a package of appliances($9,000) and most them have or had problems since i purchased them a few years ago. samsung products have great ideas, but it seems samsung struggles to get these ideas to work reliably.

so i bought this fridge thinking this would be our forever fridge. the ice maker is so disappointing. there are only 2 people in this house and we cant have 1 day when the ice maker will work properly. always frozen. always have to fix it. now it doesnt make ice at all. we have resorted to buying bags of ice and ice trays. for a $3k fridge - the ice maker should not only work but be consistent all the time. this is very disappointing - esp for parties - as one other review mentioned. samsung should own up to this problem - and fix the issue at no cost to the consumer - considering there are a number of customers having the same problem. looks like i have to buy another fridge - thanks to samsung - wirh an ice maker that actually works.

i bought this fridge from home depot years ago. i love the space and flexibility. i hate the ice maker! i've had to repair it so many times. can't get service on it in my small town. i now need to replace the whole machine because it is constantly freezing over. it is super annoying to continually defrost this ice maker. i'm in agreement with the majority of reviewers that this is the worst design ever! i doubt i'll ever buy a samsung fridge again. and i'm a loyal samsung user. fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer and of course, my phone. you'd think samsung would issue a recall on this ice maker because of all of the complaints, but you can't even get the machine warrantied.

the fridge is absolutely gorgeous. not made with genuine stainless steel but not the end of the world. multi function zones are the main reason i bought this fridge. those are all perfect. the problem that i battle every other week is the ice maker. seems to be a pretty common problem. huge ice clumps up and then you get no ice at all. the help chat says defrost it (with out a hair dryer) but they don't tell you how. in order to let my ice machine defrost i would have to leave my fridge doors open for hours with how big the ice clumps get. i checked all seals and they look great. you can't turn it off either to try and prevent that. real bummer. not sure if buy another fridge which is a shame considering i love samsung. i just cleaned it but will add photos next time.

Where do I even start. Within the first year the ice maker would continually freeze up. Have friends say the same thing about theirs. Who wants to keep a hair dryer on the counter in order to get ice? Luckily the refrigerator compressor died just before the warranty expired. Once the repairman came, checked it out, ordered a replacement, another 3-4 months came and went with a refrigerator registering 67 degrees. Once the repairman came, he informed us it could not be repaired and that Samson would offer an upgrade. Great just what we need; an upgraded piece of junk! He said " if they give you a refund, don't buy another Samsung." What we need in addition to a refund for the fridge is a refund for all the spoiled food we've lost. Thought the finish was very pretty, but just look at it and it scratches! So how long will it take to get our money back? Another 6 months? How wonderful, now with holidays approaching with no refrigerator. Samsung needs to stick to TVs and stay away from appliances. On the other hand, the dishwasher we purchased at the same time, died 2 months after purchase, luckily within warranty period. Repairman came, fixed it, and it has done very well ever since. Still I will never spend my money on a Samsung appliance.

the refrigerator is beautiful. the ice maker repeatedly stops working, at least 2 times per month. it freezes up & creates an ice build up all around that we have to thaw out just to get it to work again. the positioning of the water & ice dispensers creates a mess. the water dispenser leaks water, creating a buildup in the area that should catch droplets of water. the freezer started rattling loudly & when checked, all the food was thawed out.

the refrigerator looks nice and has more than enough room for me and my wife. the reason that it isn't my favorite appliance is that the doors dent easily (got a dent during delivery) and i keep the ice maker shut off and fill it with ice i make so it looks like it works so when people come over they don't see how much money i spent just so i could make my own ice! from what i have seen on almost every review of samsung refrigerators they should be sending us a rebate check for not being able to use the ice maker function. i'm just glad they don't make cars!

I bought this unit 3-4 years ago and was very excited. Looks great , got a lot of compliments. within the first year I started to have the ice maker freezing up and stopped making ice.over the years I had at least 4-6 service calls regarding the ice maker issue. Finally I called Samsung and the warranty the fridge out. I replaced it with another Samsung fridge that does not have the ice maker in the main refrigerator , make sure that the ice maker is on the freezer.

Every week I have to disassemble the ice maker because it frosts up and jambs the ice from dumping into the ice bin.A pain in the button!! It was explained as a design flaw, they shouldn't have put the ice bin in the refrigerator.

I've had this fridge a few years and had little problem with it. One thing is one side of the freezer is cooler than the other...just is, weird. Another Is a design flaw in the ice maker. The water lever ( chrome) is below the ice, so when you hit ice, it strike the water lever, leaving scratches in it. But it's been good...love the fridge part.

We've had this refrigerator for 5 years and, except for issues with the ice maker, love it. The flexzone compartment is a great feature; we mostly use it for beverages, but have used it as an extra freezer section too. The ice maker continually froze up and fortunately we had an an extended warranty contract so all the repairs were free. It took about 8 repair visits and replacement of the entire unit a piece at a time, but seems to be fixed now.

We have had this refrigerator for a couple of years and it's wonderful. Having doors on the freezer instead of a drawer is great. I've had side-by-sides previously and this seems so much more roomy. The fact that it's counter depth makes it easy to see most everything that is in the refrigerator. It is a little noisy but that doesn't bother us.

Ice maker has had at least 10 service calls to replace circulation blower motors, ice tray, main circuit board and ice cube making unit. Ice Cube tray when filling with waterover flows and runs into the top of the circulation blower then into the ice cube tray freezing the augur and cracking the tray. .

Bought the fridge and the freezer did not work. After 3 months of going back and forth with Samsung they finally replaced it. Worked great for the first year and then the ice maker started to freeze up. My son and one of his friends also bought the same model and are having the same issue with the ice maker. we bought this fridge in june 2018. loved the design. in april 2020 the fridge stopped working. it took three weeks to get the compressor replaced in may 2020. that held until june 9th 2020 when the whole machine died again. we have had two more service calls since and nothing has worked. samsung keeps trying to schedule more repairs (which take at least 10 days to happen). so disappointed and so frustrated to be dealing with this for three months on a fridge that was less than two years old.

ice maker drips and drain tube keeps freezing over causing flooding at the bottom of the fridge, freezer and floor. i called a repair man who can't do anything to stop the freezing over in this model.

i have had this refrigerator for just over four years. this is the second time the fridge compressor went out. the icemaker also freezes up and stops working. i'll just buy another.

this refrigerator has the absolutely worst ice maker ever! it constant jams and it's placement and size makes clearing the jam and cleaning it out extremely difficult.

the ice maker has a major design flaw. 180 days in the unit froze & the ice stopped. through user forums i found the solution. search "forced defrost"=fd. now it freezes up monthly & leaks slowly.

Tons of excellent features with an excellent aesthetic. While it was working, I loved it. But then the freezer compartment suddenly stopped working and getting the refrigerator serviced was a nightmare. I ultimately had to replace it and the representative I spoke to said that I was just unlucky and these refrigerators are usually very solid. The new one seems okay, but I'm still wary.

I bought this in September and initially had an issue with the water not working. After some jimmying, I got it to work. I've had problems with the freezer constantly filling with frost. Now, a couple days ago, the water stopped functioning again. Still trying to figure that out, but aside from these issues, I love the size and set up of the separate freezers. Once I get the water working again, my satisfaction with this fridge will be improved. I do love the black stainless steel finish - it doesn't show many fingerprints.
